REMOVAL: Seachem’s PhosNet is a granular ferric oxide (GFO) with high porosity, high surface area, and high binding capacity. It works to impulsively remove phosphates from silicates from both freshwater and saltwater.
BINDING: PhosNet will not release phosphates or silicates back into your tank or aquarium because of its ability to exhibit strong binding capabilities, as a result reducing phosphates and silicates to very low levels.
USE: The reduction of dust produced by PhosNet makes this GFO product easy to use every time you are wanting to take away phosphate from your aquarium.
FILTRATION: For best results, PhosNet must be rinsed before use and placed so that you can maximize the waft of water through it but not so that it tumbles against itself in waft. It can be used in a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or any high waft area of a trickle filter and a filter bag is really useful.
DIRECTIONS: Use 50g (½ cup) of PhosNet for every 200 L (50 US gallons) saltwater or 400 L (100 US gallons) freshwater. Leave PhosNet in place for 4 days, then test phosphate or silicate concentrates. So long as concentrations are above 0.02 mg/L, the product is not exhausted as over-treating is not really useful.
